I cannot believe it has been so long since I update this page! Where does the time go! I had a great summer vacation. Starting on June 8, 2007, I drove from central Iowa all the way to California with stop overs in Provo and Orem, Utah! I was able to spend time with Tom Osmond in Ephraim, Utah. What a nice and generous man! I am proud that he calls me his friend. We had been
e-mailing each other and set up my visit that way. What a nice town he lives in and a nice house!
I visited the old Osmond Studios at 1420 East 800 North in Orem. What a difference 30 years can make. The handprint wall is gone and the front looks totally different with a new addition addded. I was able to go inside and look around and what a difference! The dressing rooms are no longer dressing rooms, the movable ice rink has moved out, the building has been split up into different sections with their own entrances. Weird. I will always treasure going to Donny & Marie Show tapings there over two years time in 1977 through 1979. The gift shop is even gone! And I do not remember the archway at the front that you drive through, but who knows, I was not there to look at the building 30 plus years ago, I was there to see Donny & Marie videotape their TV show! The last time I had been to Osmond Studios was in May of 1981 when a TV special was being taped there with Paul Lynde.
Other BIG news is that Marie will be releasing a Live CD sometime in August or September and the Osmonds are going to tape a 50th Anniversary TV special soon. That is about it! Below are some photos of my trip to Utah!
Until next time!
Sincerely,
~Daniel Selby
